Inspire Mizoram. HISTORY Mizoram is a mountainous state of India. The Mizos are a Mongloid race originally came from the Chin hills of neighbouring Myanmar. Mizo means a man from the hills. Like the rest of India, the British captured this region in 1898 and established their rule. After independence Mizo area became a district of Assam. In 1952, a Mizo district council was created under the Indian Constitution. There was a big famine in this region in 1959 and it was the main reason behind the birth of Mizo National Front under the leadership of Laldenga. With the implementation of the North-Eastern Reorganisation Act in 1972, Mizoram became a Union Territory. Mizoram was created as a separate state of the Indian Union on 20th February 1986.
Christianity in Mizoram The majority (87%) of Mizos are Christian in various denominations, predominantly Presbyterian. Hindus form a small minority (3.6%) and there are also around 8.3% Buddhists according to the 2001 census, mostly made up from Chakma settlers of Arakan origin.There are about 8,000 mostly ethnic Mizo followers of a Judaic group Bnei Menashe, who claim descent from the biblical Menasseh. Muslims make up about 1.1% of the state population.

Greatest thing in life is to have fellowship with Christians, no matter which part of the world we are living. Thank God for the technology that has given us the chance to come and worship Jesus and learn from each other in living a life of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
