"When your enemy presses in hard do not fear
The battle belongs to the Lord
Take courage my friend, your redemption is near
The battle belongs to the Lord!!!!! "

What an experience!, prayed for a person suffering with terminal cancer, followed by a dream on the same night on Judges 10:10, which revealed  the reasons why prayers are not answered; because of the idols I could have as a Christian, followed by a call for repentance!

We are living in days where God is calling His followers to be serious about their faith, and take their place in the body of Christ to serve effectively in the Kingdom of God with the of  strength God.

On  Saturday ( 02-05-2015) I received a phone call regarding a friend of us who is seriously ill, she is only 59 years old, suffering with breast cancer, few days to live, My friend  and I travelled  on Sunday (03/05/15)  to see her in the hospital, journey took about 3 hours, we prayed with her and the family, listen to her husband’s story, he is heartbroken, we knew this couple for more than 20 years,  my wife  and this precious child of God  worked together in organising our fellowship Christmas plays 26 years ago, our precious friend and her husband  are  very charismatic, love the Lord dearly, perfect example of a married couple who are in love even after so many years of married life,  they are liked by many of us, we prayed for God’s will for their life and their two daughter’s  future. Please keep our friend and her family in your prayer, may God have mercy on them, may God’s perfect will come to pass, we pray in Jesus Name.

I also would like to share with you a dream I had the same night after returning home, spending the time praying with our friend.  In the dream, I was inspired to read Judges 10:10. When I woke up in the morning, the first thing I did was to search for Judges 10:10. I couldn’t believe what I found in the verse:

Judges 10:10

Then the Israelis cried out to the LORD and told him, "We have sinned against you because we have abandoned our God to serve the Baals."

If we continue to read the rest of the verses, we see how God had answered the Israelites many times in the past against their enemies, yet the Israelites turned away from God to serve foreign God. The fact that I was reminded about this verse in my dream, made me to search deeply on the subject of idols.
I was mediating on whether we as Christians have foreign God’s in our life, which could cause hindrance in receiving answers to our prayers.

God opened my mind to see some of the things that could hinder answers to our prayers, which I would like to share with you. We who are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, though we may not pray to idols, yet we ignorantly could have idols that we worship. There are many things that can take the place of God in our life and becomes the hidden idols that we worship daily...

For example, if our work takes more attention than our devotion to God, then it is an idol which could prevent us having fellowship with God. If we are spending too much time on the Internet, Face book, or watching TV programmes, at the expense of giving very little time in worshipping God, then we are not truly seeking God. The most common idol we all worship is ‘our needs’, every time when we come to pray, do we really meditate on God?,  or is it true that our minds are filled with our needs whenever we come to pray, and we find it so hard to put the thoughts about our needs away from our minds during  our prayer time, because we desperately need the answers. When we come to pray, our first and most important act is to come to God with a thankful heart, and a heart full of gratitude for God. I have seen in my own prayer time falling into the temptation of praying for my needs more than thanking God, giving praises to His Name, the Name of Jesus. Even thou we may not admit our  behaviour during  our prayer time, but if we are truthful about it, we will ask God to forgive us for worshiping our needs, and not our great God who supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory. The dream I had on Sunday night has opened my spiritual eyes to see the reason behind why my prayers are not answered. Let us pray for the Holy Spirit to renew our minds, so that when we come to pray, we are totally overwhelmed by the presence of our great God, may our praises to our great God rise up as incense from deep within us, and reach heaven, may we continue to praise God, even to the point of no time left to pray for our needs. Holy Spirit will guide us in our intercession, there is a time to intercede for the needs, there is also a time to exalt our great God, worship Him in spirit and in truth. Our Lord speaks to us through our spirits, because God is a spirit, let us cultivate our spirit by reading the word, meditating the word, and practising the word.  I thank God for speaking to me through a dream, and correcting me, I pray if you are like me, you will repent and give all your attention to God in your walk with the King of Kings.

Remember, we can take comfort in knowing the truth which is, our great High Priest; our Lord Jesus Christ is interceding for us daily.

The battle belongs to the Lord - 2Chro 20:15

When faced with a problem or challenge, we tend to ask ourselves, “What am I going to do?” And well-meaning family members and friends will come along and ask, “What are you going to do?”Jehoshaphat faced a multitude of enemies. But instead of focusing on what he would do, he prayed, “O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”

(2 Chronicles 20:12) When we turn our eyes to God, we will hear Him say, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great
multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s… You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord…” (2 Chronicles 20:15, 17) But standing still is the last thing we
want to do when the enemy is coming against us. It is also the most difficult thing to do because we feel that we cannot just stand around and do nothing — we must try to save the situation.
But God wants us to stand still and see Jesus our salvation fight for us.So what do you do the next time you are faced with a battle and don’t know what to do? Jehoshaphat sent his singers to the front of the army to proclaim, “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 20:21) Some people will wonder, “Does that mean that I just sing and don’t do anything else when I have a problem?” No, that is not what I am saying.

Do what the situation requires, but don’t worry and don’t trust in what you do. Like Jehoshaphat, rest and trust in His mercy that endures forever. When you do that, God will turn your battlefield into the Valley of Berachah. Berachah means “blessings”. The children of Israel gave the battlefield this name because it took them three days to gather all the spoils of war! God turned their situation into a great blessing!
(2 Chronicles 20:25–26) Do you have a battle to fight? Stand still
and see the salvation of the Lord!
