Stability in Unstable Times
We are living in a world full of changes, it is difficult to plan or even make decisions on major things concerning our life.
Instability, we can see all around us, instability in governments, financial matters, in the job market, and also there is instability in people. We all have experience of disappointments with people.
Bible has many stories on this subject, Joseph’s life was full of disappointments, and rejections.
Joseph knew that there is only ONE, who will never leave him, nor forsake him, Joseph knew only ONE who will never let him down.
What is the secret of Joseph? he was a dreamer, favoured son of his father, his brothers resented him, when they had the opportunity, they sold him into Egyptian slavery. Then, though he was prospering as a slave, he was thrown into prison there for a crime he didn’t commit. Joseph must surely have felt that all was lost.
What is the secret that kept Joseph’s sanity?
In all Joseph went through in life, he refused to become bitter or resentful. His stayed focused on his Creator.
He worked “as unto the Lord”, the Bible says, God’s favour was on Joseph. “Whatever he [Joseph] did, the Lord made to prosper (Gen 39:21)
God gave Joseph promotion, he interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh. In doing so, Joseph saved not only his own family from seven years of famine, but Egypt and all of Israel, as well.
What can we learn from Joseph’s story ?
No matter what we are going through in life, no matter what the devil tries to do, we must remember that God is still on the Throne, God is still God, and He never gives up, He is our God, He is all together lovely, He is all together wonderful, He will never fail us, we continue to worship Him, no matter what we are going through in life, we want to be worshippers of our mighty God.
